Aubrey Calaway is interested in how sex, reality, and the self are produced and controlled in contemporary American culture. He serves as the founding director of the Violet Institute and works out of Calaway Research Studio. An 8th-generation Texan, he spends most of his time in Maine, southeast Texas, and New York City.
